Anne Hathaway stormed the Oscar night by singing and dancing with Hugh Jackman on the podium. And now she will be playing Judy Garland on both stage and screen. Hathaway, who was nominated in the best actress category in the 81st Academy Awards for her role in “Rachel Getting Married” will star in the upcoming film adaptations of Gerald Clarke’s biography “Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland”. The film will be produced by Weinstein Co.
Speculations have already begun that if everything goes well and Hathaway pulls off the role she could be a possible Oscars and the Tony contender next year. A recent review stated that every 7 out of 10 leading ladies who have won Oscar have played real-life roles. Judy Garland, the legendary actress have never won a Oscar in her lifetime. She was only awarded an honorary for her memorable performance in “The Wizard of Oz”.
