‘Dancing With the Stars’ Nearly Overtakes ‘American Idol’ in Weekly RaceAmerican Idol season 8 has topped the weekly ratings yet another time leaving behind Dancing With the Stars marginally. The 2nd week of March’s rating was declared on 15th and it was Fox’s blockbuster that secured the 1st and the 2nd spots. American Idol season 8 was viewed by 25.8 million people on Tuesday when the participants performed and 25.5 million for the Wednesday results episode.

In most other episodes there is a vivid difference between the competition and results shows. But it was the performances Kanye West and American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson on Wednesday night that attracted many to get glued to their television sets.

Dancing With the Stars gave in a close competition to the Fox’s on of the most popular reality TV show with a very hefty 22.8 million viewers. American Idol will not finally have some serious competition. Fox might be just thrilled with the thought of surpassing Dancing With the Stars in the weekly television ratings. The 8th season of Dancing With the Stars has a record viewer of nearly 23 million since May 2006.

the rest of the shows to conclude the television ratings were business. CBS’s CSI was at number 4 and Desperate Housewives, another production of ABC was at number 5.
