Disney to Feature Its First Black Princess

Disney takes a step forward to unite the world against racism. Disney is all set to release its first ever black princess. Its a long journey for the production house from Snow White to an Afro- American princess. Disney hopes the animated character to be a hit in the country with America’s first African-American president in the White House.

The film is set to hit the screens later this year and has already generated ample controversies. The Princess and the Frog, Disney’s upcoming production features an African-American princess, Princess Tiana, along with several other animated casts who are also black. But the frog turned prince is white. And this has already stirred controversies more than the production house has expected. Critics have been heard talking about a fairytale ending for a black prince and princess, which the Disney took advantage of.

Since 1937, when Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs were released, all princesses of Disney has predominantly been white. The 49th animated film of Disney has been chased by racial controversy since its announcement in 2006.
