Deepika Padukone likes to enact versatile and challenging roles. In Ashutosh Gowariker`s `Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey`, she is playing the role of a brave girl ‘Kalpana’ and Deepika quips that it is a dream
role for her and finally her dream has come true.
It is a periodic film based on freedom movement. Gowariker tells about Chittagong freedom struggle in Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan starrer, ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’. Speaking about the role, Deepika quips, "It is something so new and unique for me. I am very grateful to Ashutosh who thought I was capable to carry off such a powerful role. It is a dream come true and a very important film of my career".
This is for the first time that Deepika and Abhishek are pairing opposite each other. When Deepika was asked as how she finds Abhi as a co-star, "He is so much fun to work with. I`m glad that I am getting a chance to work with different kinds of actors."
`Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey` is based on the book `Do And Die` by Manini Chatterjee and it revolves around the Chittagong Uprising of the 1930s. The film is mostly shot in Goa and Mumbai and slated for December release.
