Imran Khan marry Avantika on January 8

Wedding bells are ringing!
It is almost a year since the Bollywood actor Imran Khan got engaged to Avantika Malik on January 11 this year. Now, the star is all set to take the wedding vows with his fiancée on January 8, 2011. The families have started sending out the invitations.

The wedding will take place at Karjat where the Khans have a farmhouse. Imran got engaged with Avantika at the same place. As a source tells a tabloid, “Though it is exactly two months away, the preparations are in full swing. Those on the guest list were sent SMSes or told on the phone to keep themselves free on January 8 from 5 pm to 5am. The message stated that a formal invite the wedding card would follow later.”

Yes, the Maliks are planning an unusual wedding; the ceremony is from dusk to dawn. After Imran made his debut with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, he had no qualms declaring his love for Avantika. He proposed marriage on her birthday in July 2009

Imran Khan and Avantika Malik Contrary to reports on Imran Khan planning to have a nikahnama with his fiancée Avantika Malik in January, here's the latest:the actor has chosen to go for a court wedding. Imran will tie the knot in the second week of January. The exact date is yet to be finalised.

The decision to opt for a court wedding stems mainly from the fact that Imran and Avantika belong to different religions; Imran is from a Muslim family, where as Avantika belongs to a Hindu one.

Our source said, "In the past, reports have suggested that Imran and Avantika would have a nikha in Mumbai. Though Imran's family members are known to be religious, they have never imposed it on him. In fact, it was Imran who was very confused about this for a long time. A lot of serious thought failed to yield anything that was to his satisfaction."

Apparently, Imran then took inspiration from Danish Aslam, a very close friend of his. Aslam, whose next Break Ke Baad stars Imran, recently got married to his long-time girlfriend Shruti Seth who is a Hindu. Hence Aslam was in the same situation until he and Shruti opted for a court marriage.

Of course, that was followed by a grand celebration in Goa. Imran has also now decided to go for a court wedding as well. However, he has apparently made it very clear that he wants it to be a private affair.

The source added, "Imran will have the wedding at his residence in Bandra with a few close friends and family members."When contacted, Imran said, "I am from a Muslim family and Avantika belongs to a Hindu family. I personally didn't commit our wedding to one religion or another. We felt the best way for us was to keep it neutral and have a court marriage."
