Toronto International Film Festival gave away the first look of director Deepa Mehta’s forthcoming English flick Midnight’s Children, which is based on Salman Rushdie’s book and stars Satya Bhabha, Shriya Saran, Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Seema Biswas, Shahana Goswami, Samrat Chakrabarti, Rahul Bose and Darsheel Safary.
Shriya Saran is playing an important role in the film as a slum dweller and says that she had ‘changed’ herself completely to suit the character by adapting the same dress culture, speech slang and mannerisms of slum-dwellers after observing them from close quarters.
“I have played a rather unusual role and it’s just another proof that I can excel in any kind of role(s),” asserts Shriya
The film hits the theatres on October 2012.
