Bollywood duo Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza are reportedly announce their engagement tomorrow coinciding with the birthday bash tomorrow of would-be bride.
Riteish, son of former Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, was among the most sought-after bachelors in Bollywood and Genelia (Cheenu), known for her talent in the industry, were dating for the last eight years, since their debut film ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’.
Reports say the wedding will be on Feb. 5, 2012 and the ritual will be held in traditional Maharashtrian style.
The wedding will be preceded by Mehndi on Feb. 3 and Sangeeth on Feb. 4.
While Riteish confined himself to Bollywood, Genelia ventured into the south, acting in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam language films.
From her first appearance in a Parker Pen commercial with Amitabh Bachchan helped her bag the role in ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’ in 2003, her role in ‘Boys’ actually shot her to fame. Her Telugu movie ‘Bommarillu’, which won her first Filmfare award, made her famous in Telugu. In addition, she has acted in some popular Tamil and Malayalam films.
Though her latest Hindi film ‘Force’ was not a box-office hit, it has established her as a leading actress in Bollywood too. She has also tried her luck in a TV show Big Switch. Otherwise, she is a regular face on TV commercials as a brand ambassador for Fanta, Virgin Mobile India, Fastrack, LG Mobiles, Garnier Light, Margo, and Perk.
Riteish’s career took off much later in 2004 with ‘Masti’, followed by ‘Bardaasht’. His other films include Heyy Baby, Dhamaal, Rann and House Full.
Riteish and Genelia are acting together again in the forthcoming film ‘Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’, which is scheduled for release on Feb. 17, 2012.
