Salman Khan, who was all set to celebrate his birthday in Dubai, has had a slight change of plans. Due to his family’s concerns the actor will now celebrate his birthday in Panvel.
Salman’s guest list reportedly includes his parents, brothers, sisters and close friends Sajid Nadiadwala, Bhushan Kumar, Mahesh Manjrekar and Shirish Kunder.
A friend of the actor confirmed, “We are now going to Panvel on Monday to bring in Salman`s birthday on Tuesday. After that, we will head to Dubai for New Year.”
“Health wise it wasn’t a great year for Salman. So everybody feels that he should spend time with family on his birthday,” added the friend.
After celebrating his birthday in Panvel, Salman will be in the UAE to bring in the New Year alongside his archrival Shah Rukh Khan. Both the Khans will be throwing their own party in Dubai.
This has been Salman’s year at the movies. Ready and Bodyguard, his two releases this year, are among the top five grossers of all time. Salman became the King of Aces when Dabangg (2010) found itself a place in the highest grosser of the year. He followed this with two more blockbusters – Ready and Bodyguard – this year. Bodyguard’s first day’s collection of `22 crore is unheard of in the history of Hindi cinema.
Aamir Khan, Salman’s best friend said, “Salman deserves all the success because he is a simple guy at heart.
It is his simplicity that makes him such a favourite with the masses.”
Producer-distributor NR Pachisia says, “If you take the sum total of Salman’s box office collections over the last three years, you are bound to come to a mind-boggling figure. Yes, he is the most bankable star today.”
