Aishwarya Rai’s Birthday was very grand

Bollywood queen, Aishwarya Rai was honored the second highest civilian French award, “the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters” (Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres), by the French Government, in Mumbai on Thursday. It also happened to be the actor’s birthday. By her side was present her entire family, including Abhishek Bachchan, little Aaradhya Bachchan, pa-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan, her mom, dad and brother. 

However, mom-in-law, Jaya Bachchan was missing.

Aishwarya Rai said: “I want to thank the French Government for honoring me with this award. It’s truly overwhelming. I thank you in all humility… I want to thank every professional who I have worked with and who made it possible for me to have such a glorious career.”

Amitabh Bachchan wrote on Twitter: “Aishwarya is decorated by the French Government by a medal of Arts and Letters at a ceremony here .. Aaradhya attends too.”

Aishwarya Rai received the honor for having shown exceptionable contribution to arts, in France and the rest of the world. Other noted celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan and Nandita Das have received the honor too, in the past.

Celebrating her 39th birthday, a cake cutting ceremony was organised too. Aish looked gorgeous in an Abu Sandeep floor length pink anarkali outfit.

Baby Aaradhya was also managed to get clicked.
