Emraan Hashmi sports his new ponytail look in Ghanchakkar

Emraan Hashmi was seen sporting an all-new ponytailed look while shooting for his upcoming film, Ghanchakkar, with Vidya Balan at a Mumbai suburban rail station in the early hours of Thursday.

The unit of the film had booked the Goregaon railway station and a local train for the shoot that took place midnight onwards. Filming of the scene started after 12am.

Ghanchakkar is a comedy thriller directed by Rajkumar Gupta, whose last film No One Killed Jessica was a crossover hit that won him wide acclaim.

Though our shutterbug managed to snap the new-look Emraan and Vidya during their midnight rendezvous, the shoot was carried out amid utmost secrecy. Gupta and a minimal crew canned the shot featuring the two lead stars only.

The shot filmed in the late hours saw Emraan rush into the train, which then sped off towards Churchgate. Vidya was already sitting inside the train.

"Most of the shoot took place inside the train after it left the Goregaon station. The scene being filmed seemed like an action sequence where Emraan was seen jumping into a running train as it left the station," an onlooker said.

Ghanchakkar, slated to open in June next year, will be Vidya's first release after her upcoming marriage in December.

The 33-year-old actress plays a Punjabi housewife in the film, and talking to the press a while ago she claimed her role in Ghanchakkar would be breaking the notion that housewives are boring.

Co-star Emraan's ponytailed look is reportedly meant to give a suave edge to his character of a safe-cracker who is out to pull one last heist before going straight. The story of the film narrates how Vidya's character gets entangled with the criminal.

Emraan has been on a dream run over the past couple of years, recording back-to-back hits at the box-office with releases such as Raaz 3, Shanghai, Jannat 2, The Dirty Picture and Murder 2.

Although Emraan's latest release, the much-delayed Rush, bombed, the trade is bullish about Ghanchakkar. The Rajkumar Gupta film will see Emraan team up with Vidya once again after last year's The Dirty Picture that went on to become a superhit and also won the actress a National Award.
