Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap heart-broken as THE LUNCHBOX out of Oscars

Filmmakers Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap were delighted when their film THE LUNCHBOX was being widely appreciated and were quite sure for it to be selected as India's official entry for the Best Foreign Language film at Oscars. However, to their surprise, THE LUNCHBOX lost out to Gyan Correa's Gujarati film THE GOOD ROAD at Academy Awards.

Irrfan Khan-Nimrat Kaur starrer THE LUNCH BOX was received well by both, the critics and the audience, thus making the filmmakers believe that the movie stands a chance to bag an official entry in the Oscars. But after the jury selected THE GOOD ROAD as the official entry, producers Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap were taken aback and expressed their anger and disappointment over it immediately through micro-blogging site.

While producer Karan Johar posted, ''Really shocked and dissapointed....#LUNCHBOX had every factor working in its favour...we may have just lost our golden chance....SAD!!!'', an angry Anurag Kashyap vehemently wrote, ''feeling very very disappointed, can't comment on the film i have not seen, but it better make it to final five. Anyway, disappointment and anger aside.. Now i feel like crying in desperate frustration.. and i believe there were some very wise people on the jury... anyway anger out.. getting back to music recording.. all the best to the winner ...''
