The name “Joe B. Carvalho” with its Hindi interpretation could mean a lot of things. That’s the name of the fearless, dauntless detective played by Arshad Warsi.
“Har insaan ke ander kahin na kahin ek jasoos chhupa hota hai. Aur yeh jasoos ek aisa jasoos hai jo darna nahin janta, jo harna nahin janta, in fact, yeh toh kuch bhi nahin janta,” goes the voiceover by Arshad at the start.

Soha Ali Khan is the hot police officer Shantipriya Phadnis. But she’s anything but Shantipriya. Her entry scene in the film has her beating 20 goons. There’s also a scene where she steps into a swimming pool in a bikini. She has a cabaret song as well in the film.
For her role, Soha Ali Khan took kick-boxing classes and learnt how to do a cartwheel.
Mr Joe B. Carvalho is a comedy of errors with a slew of other characters played by Shakti Kapoor, Javed Jaffrey and Vijay Raaj. Directed by Samir Tewari, the film is set to release on January 3, 2014.
