Not so long ago, B-town was abuzz with the news that Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha would come together once again on the big screen for Anees Bazmee’s Welcome Back. But before we could actually give them a warm welcome, the reports were hastily denied by the filmmakers. However, Bachchan Sr-Rekha fans, who are eager to see them share screen space again, need not be disappointed any more! ‘Coz our fair-feathered birdie buddy tells us that the two have signed on to do a project with Yash Raj Films. So how did the impossible become possible? We hear that Aditya Chopra personally convinced Amitabh and Rekha to act in his planned film. Will it actually happen? Who knows. But as far as the idea is concerned and with out eternal optimism shining, we say yaay!
Amitabh and Rekha were last seen together on the silver screen in Silsila (1981). For over 30 years, no filmmaker was able to rope in the two together for any project, but now Aditya has reportedly managed it. So kudos to the reclusive Mr C! And fingers crossed to see if Amitabh-Rekha’s sizzling chemistry (onscreen, of course) is still going strong, after all these years…
