History has repeated itself with Aamir Khan once again emerging as the biggest player of the year, twice in a row. After almost touching the 300 Crore figure with Dhoom: 3 at the end of 2013, Aamir has now managed to hit the triple century mark with PK. As of today, the film has officially crossed three hundred crores in net domestic collections making it the highest earning film in the history of Bollywood. The only film to even come close this year is Salman’s Kick which brought in around 233 Crores.
Dhoom: 3 had raked in 284 Crores in domestic collections but fell short of the 300 Crore mark. Sallu’s Kick was expected to touch the milestone first but we guess it takes an Aamir film to beat an Aamir film. In any case, this perfectionist Khan has proved that the success of Dhoom: 3 was no happy accident, while Shah Rukh may be the king of romance and Salman the king of action flicks, for now at least, Aamir is the undisputed king of the box office.
