Revealed! Why 'Bigg Boss 8' Has Been Extended and Named 'Bigg Boss Halla Bol'

The new series "Bigg Boss Halla Bol" has brought in new twists in the season with host Farah Khan taking charge from viewers' favourite Salman Khan.

Although the extended series is slowly turning spicy with challengers and champions turning the house into a battlefield, little is known why the show is being extended.

Earlier, speculations were rife that the eighth season of the controversial show failed to garner enough TRPs for the channel, which was the reason why the show got extended and some of the highly controversial ex-contestants from previous season were called in to take the entertainment quotient a notch higher.

However, Bollywood Life has revealed the real reason behind the controversial show being extended.

It says that the channel went for the decision as its new daily soap "Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat", which was scheduled to go on air post "Bigg Boss 8", wasn't ready for telecast.

With the slot remaining empty, the channel came up with the idea of stretching the reality show for yet another month.

Morever, Salman while hosting the grand finale had mentioned that he couldn't make it to the new series as his dates were blocked for his film "Bajrangi Bhaijaan". The superstar, who has been associated with "Bigg Boss" for several seasons now, made it clear to the show-makers that he didn't want the extended show to be called "Bigg Boss 8".

Hence, the makers had to come up with the title "Bigg Boss Halla Bol" and also changed the rules of the game by bringing in some loud-mouthed ex-contestants to compete along with the existing champions of the season.
