Alia Bhatt had posted a photo of a hockey stick on her Instagram account a few weeks ago, with the words, “My new friend”. It has now been revealed that the reason behind this was that she is playing a hockey player in one of her upcoming films, ‘Udta Punjab’.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, a source said, “Alia has been regularly going for her hockey training for about two hours in the morning. She has been doing so for over two weeks now… Since the film is set in Punjab, a state that is famous for its hockey players, Alia isn’t leaving anything to chance as she plays a professional hockey player in the movie.”
Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, ‘Udta Punjab’ also stars Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. The film also marks the Bollywood debut of Punjabi superstar, Diljit Dosanjh.
