The actor always wanted to romance on screen…When Piku was announced, the unusual pairing of Irrfan Khan and Deepika Padukone really amazed us. This is one jodi never tried before. In fact, it won’t be wrong to say that not many saw this pairing ever materialising. But trust Shoojit Sircar to come up wth a love story with the two of them in the lead. Even Irrfan Khan feels it is only Sircar who could envision him in a romantic lead.
The actor is on a promotional spree for the film that releases on May 8. It is really refreshing to watch Irrfan and Deepika in the trailers of the film. The role has made Irrfan very happy because he admits that he was waiting for a romantic and a comedy film to come his way and he is glad that Piku served both the purposes.
If you notice, the chemistry between Irrfan and Deepika isn’t too in your face but situational. There is a lot said with gestures rather than words which makes this even more alluring. The unique treatment to the story is evident from the trailers and we wish the same is apparent from the film. We definitely are looking forward to this film and this subtle yet sweet chemistry between Deepika and Irrfan.
