Movie Review: Mr. X

Cast: Emraan Hashmi, Amyra Dastur, Arundoy Singh

Director: Vikram Bhatt

Genre: Thriller

Review:

The story begins with Raghu Rathod and Siya Verma as ATD (Anti Terrorists Department) officers who are madly in love with each other. But Raghu, falling prey to conspiracy by his colleagues is killed by them.

While the entire world including Siya believes that Raghu died in the oil refinery blast, something unexpected than erupts and what that would be? No treat for guessing as it is quite obvious! Raghu manages to survive the blast! OMG! So much of the Ekta Kapoor TV serial drama… Isn’t it?

Then the drama further increases… Thinking how? Read on… Raghu is suddenly blessed with some power of invisibility that transforms him from a normal looking man to an invisible man, that’s exactly when the comparison to Hollow Man comes into the picture! He comes across some strange blue liquid that makes him visible only in broad daylight.

The entire transformation of Raghu from a normal human being to an invisible man sequence is lifted from the Hollywood movie ‘Hollow Man’, but do you think it would stand to any comparison with the international flick? Again, no treat for guessing… Wink, Wink!

The bald look of Emraan Hashmi is not only gross but not even tolerable after some time. In fact, I believe that all the fans of the serial kisser too would be shocked to see him in this avatar.

Last seen in ‘Main Tera Hero’, Arunoday Singh plays a high-level cop in the film. Amyra Dastur in some scenes looked as if Nargis Fakhri, obviously without the pouty lips has suddenly replaced in the movie.  Dastur, we understand that she is a fresh face in Bollywood, but certainly needs to brush up her acting skills before she signs any other project.

Emraan Hashmi, who has tried his level best to deliver punch lines, has failed miserably and the dialogue delivery throughout the movie is sad. Unlike his previous movies, Emraan Hashmi’s latest release Mr.X is for all age groups.

The only interesting part of Mr.X: TV actor Gurmeet Chowdhary makes his Bollywood debut with the movie. I wonder how the scriptwriters and directors also get ideas of making such a movie.

Verdict: A big no if you are a movie lover. In case you would want to watch it for Emraan Hashmi, don’t forget to carry a painkiller with you.
