Kalki Koechlin’s Margarita, With A Straw saw its release recently and has received a raving response from film critics as well as B-town celebrities. The film directed by Shonali Bose, highlights the emotional journey of Laila( Kalki), who suffers from Cerebral Palsy.
Kalki was seen promoting the film at an event recently and arrived with a rather special guest. For those unaware, Margaria, With A Straw was inspired by director Shonali’s cousin Malini, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy herself and was seen accompanying Kalki for the promotional event!
Kalki in an EXCLUSIVE interview with BollywoodLife had revealed that she used to have hanging out sessions with Malini, in order to understand the condition better and incorporate her mannerisms in to the role of Laila, which she plays in the film. Shonali on the other hand revealed that the idea of Margarita, With A Straw came to her because of her cousin Malini, as she wanted people to be aware about the condition of Cerebral Palsy. Both Kalki and Shonali posed happily with Malini and had a gala time during the photo session. Kalki made the perfect ‘Little Miss Sunshine’in her bright yellow Kurta which she teamed up with a blue wrap around skirt and a chunky necklace. Radiant indeed!
It was heartwarming to see Malini attending the promotional event and being entertained by Shonali, Kalki, who made a picture perfect frame with her!
