Salman in trouble again

The plot of land measuring 2.5 acres in Vaje village in Panvel was sold to Salman Khan recently

Salman, who is flying high with his forthcoming release ‘Ready’, has got caught in a new controversy. Reportedly, the actor is being accused of illegally purchasing 2.5 acres of land in Panvel, Maharashtra.

Apart from the Bollywood superstar, political leader Harbhans Singh has also bought land in that region.

According to law, the actor and the politician cannot purchase the land, since the government had given it for cultivation to the poor farmers in that village.

Villagers protested against Salman and Harbhans Singh
It’s heard that the villagers from Vaje near Panvel got together at the talathi's office and fought to get back their land from the actor and the politician, who they feel have illegally acquired their land without their consent.

The villagers protested that the panch had earlier conned them to part with their land, claiming that the government is planning to take back the allotted acres and the only other option was to sell the lands at the earliest.

While speaking about the plot in Panvel, political leader Harbhans Singh stated that he wasn’t aware of any such law of purchasing and selling villagers’ land.

“The deal was cleared by the then Tehsildar and even our name is on 7/12 extracts. I have paid the entire value of the plot to the village and I should not be blamed,” stated the politician.

Investigation has been ordered for the land deals
The government had given the villagers 83 acres of land for cultivation, and they have alleged that 2.5 acres of land was sold to Salman without their consent.

The villagers have made a complaint on the illegal transaction to the Collector of Raigadh district.

Incidentally, the collector’s office has ordered a close inquest on this matter and the department officials are certain that the deals have happened against the violation of the law.

Speaking about the illegal dealing, a department official stated that they will soon finish the inquiry and are making sure to scrap both the deals.
