The producers have chosen the cuteness queen Alia Bhatt and sturdy Arjun Kapoor to play the lead roles in the much awaited film '2 States'. A lot of rumours were aired in the industry following the star-cast of the film. Even, Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor were rumoured to be the part of the film. By the latest tweet of Karan has proved all the rumours to be hoax. Karan has confirmed the lead characters of the film on his Twitter page.
"Sajid Nadiadwala and me collaborate on #2 States which starts filming 2mor with Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt...directed by Abhishek Varman," Karan Johar posted on his Twitter page.
Arjun Kapoor will be seen portraying the role of Krish Malhotra, who is a Punjabi guy and Alia Bhatt will be playing a Tamilian Brahmin named Ananya Swaminathan. The stunning cuteness queen has started taking lessons of Tamil culture and language to play the role with complete ease and perfection. On the other hand, Arjun himself is a Punjabi boy, so, he doesn't have to work as harder to play the role flawlessly.
The complete name of the book is '2 States: The Story of My Marriage' and it is partially based on Chetan's own love story. It is a comedy anecdote and the whole story rotates around the two lovers who belong from different states of the country. They want to get each other's love and desire to stay together throughout their lives. And to achieve their motives, they have to cross the hurdles of cultural differences and convince their parents who strongly oppose it.
