Salman Khan collects award after 14 years

Bollywood actor Salman Khan who has given innumerable hits has apparently never been up for receiving awards. The star is known to avoid taking awards, but lately at an event Khan not only showed up at the gala evening, but also picked up the award conferred to him.

Its been about 14 years since Kuch Kuch Hota Hai when the actor received an award himself. Now, he has won allocations for 'Best Brand Endorser' and he went up to the podium to take it.

Interestingly, when Khan started his career, he never bagged any award, and when he really did win, he never cared to collect them personally. A source close to the actor was quoted saying, "It is ironic that when Salman started his career, he didn't win any awards. But when he actually began winning trophies, he didn't go to collect them. However, for this one he made an exception."

"When the result was announced he couldn't believe he had won. Members of the audience had to prompt him to go to the stage and accept his trophy," added the source.
