 Rating: 4/5

Story : Tigmanshu Dhulia and Sanjay Chauhan

Story :

This movie is a sequel in its true sense, it starts off where it ended in the first part. Saheb (Jimmy Shergill) is in his wheel chair trying to recuperate from gun shot wound and who is looking to get up on his feet get back . Biwi (Mahie Gill) is an MLA now. Their relationship is just as sour as it was in the first part. Here enters gangster (Irrfan Khan) who also  comes from a royal lineage and wants to take revenge at Saheb. Soha Ali Khan who is love interest of Irrfan Khan but is forced to get married to Jimmy Shergill. Rest of the story is to find out who is the last pair standing.

Performances :

One of the major positives in this movie is the extra ordinary performances put by the actors. Jimmy Shergill once again impresses with his royal performance. The command and the authority he shows while delivering his dialogues, even though he is in a wheelchair is just amazing. Mahie Gill continues her performance as an needy alcoholic wife and does it really well. Irrfan Khan shines once again in his performance. Soha has a limited role but she excels in it. Other actors also do great work too.

Technical aspect :

Last time, Tigmanshu Dhulia suddenly came from no where and delivered a hit with ‘Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster’. This time it only gets better. With perfect story and apt screenplay, it is treat to watch. The story is filled with unexpected twists and turns. Even though the movie is 145 mins long, you are just glued to the screen for the whole time. The movie goes with steady pace and with the wittiness in the dialogues your left admiring Tigamanshu’s work. Music of the film is good apart from the item song. The background music is excellent.  Cinematography, which was awarded for the prequel is again top notch.

Analysis :

The movie is mixture of good dialogues, good performances  interwoven in a wonderful script, which is executed to perfection. But sadly the movie remains to be just good not great. The occasionally funny scenes, especially the one where a minister who doesn’t know how to stop the porn video which is playing on his laptop just lightens up the mood. The movie is very gripping as the audience is kept wondering will the original saheb-biwi will be alive just like the first part or is there any other ending to this drama. The movie is better than its prequel. So if you liked the first part, you are most likely to be overjoyed by the end of this movie.

Bottomline: Don’t miss this !!
