Amid controversies, the film has done an outstanding business in spite of facing many protests across the country. Besides the fabulous actor, the film features Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar, Shekhar Kapoor and Andrea Jeremiah in the lead roles.
Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam hit theatres on February 7 in Tamil Nadu and gathered enthusiastic reviews.
The film experienced protests across the country from various Muslim communities. It was barred from release. The ban was imposed following the complaints from some Muslim communities, which claimed that the film contains some anti-Islam content. Further Haasan had to remove the scenes from the film for to get it released.
