Tamil actor Dhanush will make his Bollywood debut with this movie, which is based in Varanasi.
The trailer reveals an intense love story which is followed by riots. The Tamil superstar who is married to Rajnikanth's daughter will promote the film in Hindi.
On the release of the trailer, Dhanush tweeted, "RAANJHANAA official trailer jai bholenath!! Had har mahadev. And its a big day..RAANJHANAA trailer releases tonight at 12. 13 and a half hours to go.aaj mein hindi mein baat karunga."
The film is directed by the Tanu Weds Manu director Anand L Rai, with the music from the Oscar winning AR Rehman.
The film also stars Abhay Deol and is slated to release on June 21.
