Leader tells the story of a happy rural family. Amitabh Bachchan plays Master Vishmbharnath who lives with his wife Kalyani (Jaya Bachchan) and son (Dinesh Lal). The son dreams of becoming a leader one day.
Gulshan Grover plays MLA Tiwari, a bad politician. He calls Vishmbharnath to join his team, but the wise man says no. Rather his feisty daughter-in-law Ganga (Pakhi Hegde) decides to take on the bad politician. The MLA in turn takes Vishmbharnath’s son under his wing and plots a devious game. Will Ganga overcome the odds to become the leader? Will Vishmbharnath’s ideology win over the evil?
Leader is produced by Amitabh Bachchan’s make-up artist Deepak Sawant. The superstar did the film out of regard for the man.
The movie is directed by Abhishek Chadda. It’s made under the banner of Daxana films.
The makers plan to release Leader on Diwali.
