High Court directs Police to not arrest Karan Johar before 16th March

The AIB Roast controversy is getting murkier everyday with more and more cases being filed against those involved. The latest has been filed by an activist named Santosh Daundkar in Mumbai according to which the police was supposed to arrest film-maker Karan Johar for promoting obscenity and immoral behaviour.

However, the Bombay High Court has now directed the police to take no action until the next hearing takes place on the matter on the 16th of March. The case filed includes a number of names besides Johar and all of them could face serious legal ramifications if found guilty.

The AIB Roast was meant to be a light-hearted ribbing of two big celebrities Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor but has turned into a nationwide debate instead. The argument of free-speech vs. obscenity will now be settled in court.
