Mallika Sherawat to play a role of Aamir Khan’s wife in ‘Dangal’

Mallika Sherawat is said to be pulling out all the stops to bag the role of Aamir Khan’s Haryanvi wife in the movie 'Dangal'.

The actress, who is Haryanvi by birth and can speak the language with a very authentic accent, recently auditioned with casting director Mukesh Chabbra to bag the part of Aamir Khan’s better half in 'Dangal'.

Reports say that Mallika turned up for the audition in a total deglam look and wore a simple salwar-kameez like a Haryanvi housewife would.

“She had no make-up and rattled off the pages of dialogue she knew by heart in shuddh Haryanvi. The Jat accent that might stump other actresses comes naturally to her since she’s from the state,” Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying.

While Mallika’s audition went well, she has still not been confirmed for the part.

The ‘Dirty Politics’ actress took to Twitter to express her desire to bag the part.

“Would love to be a part of Dangal :)” Mallika Sherawat tweeted.

Already the makers have finalized two girls, Fatima Shaikh from Mumbai and Sanya Malhotra from Delhi to play Aamir Khan’s wrestler daughters in the movie.

‘Dangal’ has Aamir Khan playing wrestler Mahavir Phogat, who goes against the conventions of a conservative Haryanvi society to train his two daughters Geeta and Babita in wrestling. The daughters grow up to be champion wrestlers
