Chris Brown has finally spoken a week after the controversial incident involving him and his girlfriend Rihanna. Brown was accused of attacking Rihanna which led to his booking at a local police station and the cancellation of both their performance at the Grammy Awards. The silence between the two camps resulted to rumors as to what really happened but Brown has spoken up and said he is seeking counseling of his pastor, his mother and loved ones with the hope of becoming a better person. The 19-year old singer said he was saddened by what happened but said not all of the reports about the incident are true. He has issued a statement through his publicist Michael Sitrick where he indicated that much of what has been reported in the media is wrong. He however declined to give more details about what happened for legal reasons. Brown however denied he has posted anything in the Internet especially Facebook saying the Facebook account that have sprouted over the week (where he supposedly lambasted Rihanna) were frauds. The incident has resulted to a lot of negative publicity for Brown which led to the withdrawal of his Wrigley’s advertisement. However, it has only resulted to a lot of positive things for Rihanna who is perceived as the victim of domestic violence. Rihanna has received a lot of vows of support from friends in the business. This support was also evident when her song “Umbrella” was played on the PA system of the Phoenix US Airways Center during the NBA All-Star slam-dunk contest where the crowd including Eva Longoria Parker, Maria Shriver and Jordin Sparks cheered on. Chris Brown was scheduled to perform at the said event but his appearance but cancelled.
