Grapevine has it that the producer Ekta Kapoor is puzzled over finalizing the female lead opposite Akshay Kumar in the sequel to 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai'.
As per the latest buzz, 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2' is based on the life of underworld kingpin Dawood Ibrahim.
Earlier, speculations were rife that the final choice is between Kareena Kapoor and Vidya Balan, however presently, Kareena, Deepika and Katrina are being considered for Mandakini's character, Dawood's alleged love interest.

A little birdie revealed Mumbai Mirror, “Like Kareena, Katrina too has a very fair complexion which is required by the actress who would play Mandakini. Hence both would look the character. They also have a very definite body language.
“Deepika has a very good and curvaceous body. That could also tilt the scales in her favour.”
Interestingly, all the three thespians have worked earlier with Akshay Kumar, which has turned out to be hit.

When Balaji Motion Pictures’ CEO, Tanuj Garg, was contacted for the confirmation of reports, he simply said, “The casting is very much underway. We shall make a formal announcement once we are ready.”
