Salman : Mogambo in ‘Mr. India’ sequel?




 If rumors are to be believed then, superstar Salman Khan will be soon seen playing the famous baddie character Mogambo from the 1987’s ‘Mr. India,’ in the film’s imminent sequel, which is to be produced by Boney Kapoor.

As per reports, filmmaker Boney Kapoor has already approached Salman for the role, and it’s learnt that the hunk is all game to step into the boots of late Amrish Puri, the renowned actor who had played Mogambo in the original flick.

Talking about approaching Salman for the negative role in his film, Boney said, “I have spoken to Salman about the idea and he is kicked about it. I want only him for the negative lead. But we need to finish the script and show him. I will be roping in international experts to create a very menacing look for him.”

‘Mr. India’ sequel to be made in 3D

Apparently, Boney Kapoor is planning making the second installment of ‘Mr. India’ is 3D.

It’s also learned that the project in discussion, to be co-produced by Boney Kapoor and Sahara Motion Pictures, is going to be a big-budget venture.

“The film will be shot in 3D with a budget of over Rs. 150 crore. I’m roping in international technicians for the special effects,” Boney told the daily.

The film in question will most probably go on floors after the release of ‘No Entry 2’ and is likely to hit the silver screens by November 2014.

Boney’s son Arjun Kapoor may be a part of ‘Mr. India’ sequel

Buzz has it that Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun Kapoor may also be a part of the film.

The filmmaker father is mulling penciling in a newbie opposite son Arjun in the ‘Mr. India’ sequel.

The original ‘Mr. India’ was helmed by Shekhar Kapur and Boney is considering signing in the director again for taking charge of his forthcoming Mr. India sequel.

Anil Kapoor and Sridevi played the lead pair in the 1987’s ‘Mr. India’.
