15 Bollywood films to watch out for in 2013

The year 2012 belonged to innovative and brave filmmakers who didn't hesitate in experimenting with their characters and themes. It was one of the finest years for the Hindi film industry in a long time where the audiences showered good projects with their blessings. Is the trend going to continue in 2013 as well? A glance at the list of forthcoming films reveals that Bollywood is going to bank upon sequels and star-driven ventures in 2013. Here is a list of much anticipated films of 2013.

1. Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola: Who wouldn't be enticed by Vishal Bhardwaj's gloomy backdrops! Pankaj Kapur doesn't need to brag about his acting skills, neither does Shabana Azmi. The spectators would like to decipher the secret of a pink buffalo or cow, whatever that creature is!

2. Inkaar: The theme is the highlight of Sudhir Mishra's film. For the first time any director has decided to showcase the issue of sexual harassment at the work place. Further, it's also about the master and his muse. Hopefully Chitrangada will be able to bring out the darker side of such a sensitive issue.

3. Special Chabbis: Neeraj Pandey gave an excellent film in 'A Wednesday' (2008). This time he has the backing of a superstar as well. Will Manoj Bajpayee steal the limelight from Akshay Kumar in 'Special Chabbis'? We haven't forgotten 'Raajneeti' and 'Chakravyuh'.

4. Kai Po Che: 'Rock On' might be criticised for its central characters and their class values but it was a well made film. The director Abhishek Kapoor is going to feature newcomers in a film based on a bestseller. Will the adaption be true to the story?

5. Chennai Express: Whatever you say but Rohit Shetty has emerged as the champion of slapsticks. Shah Rukh Khan is desperately in search of a film where he can prove his worth as an actor. Will this combination evolve as a lethal one?

6. Zanjeer Remake: Just because it is based on 'Zanjeer'. It wouldn't be justified to compare Ram Charan with Big B, but we will do it.

7. Ghanchakkar: Rajkumar Gupta is working with Vidya Balan after 'No One Killed Jessica'. At that time Vidya was just a good actress, now she is a big 'acclaimed' star and the only female actor who can sell a film on her own.

8. Shootout At Wadala: Does Bollywood have more stylish filmmakers than Sanjay Gupta. De-saturated photography and witty one liners will be the things to look out for. An army of actors will be a bonus.

9. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag: Don't judge Rakesysh Omprakash Mehra by 'Delhi 6'. He had made 'Aks' and 'Rang De Basanti'. Though the first look of 'BMB' looks more like a typical thriller than a biopic, it is going to be under scanner. The comparison with 'Paan Singh Tomar' is inevitable, which means Farhan Akhtar is going to be weighed against Irrfan.

10. Satyagraha: You can criticize Prakash Jha's films for bad acting or lack of pace but he always tries to prove his point with his choice of subjects. He is not likely to go back to 'Damul' or 'Mrityudand' brand of filmmaking in 'Satyagraha' but Jha is like coconut, even his bad films can provide fodder for thoughts. Will Ajay Devgn level the score with Manoj Bajpayee in 'Satyagraha' (Hope you've not forgotten 'Raajneeti')?

11. One Upon A Time in Mumbaai Again: If you are craving for old fashioned dialogue-baazi, Rajat Arora is your man. However, I am looking forward to it for Akshay Kumar as it is difficult to imagine Akshay as a crude underworld don (No, the character he is playing in 'OUATIM2' is nowhere close to 'International Khiladi').

12. Bullet Raja: Isn't the title very interesting! Just joking. Ramadhir Singh errr Tigmanshu Dhulia is presenting suave, sophisticated Saif Ali Khan in a film based in UP. Saif has come a long way since 'Omkara', so he also needs to go back to basics of acting in 'Bullet Raja'.

13. Besharam: Ranbir Kapoor's name has turned into a brand after 'Rockstar' and 'Barfi'. The Kapoor boy has shown a range of emotions but the tagline of the film, 'Na samman ka moh, na apmaan ka bhay,' suggests that he still needs to explore himself. Abhinav Kashyap gave a blockbuster in 'Dabangg' but the real test will be his second film.

14. Krrish 3: Hrithik Roshan is the new 'Ghajini'. The actor has developed a six pack abs for the film, plus the franchise is an already established name. Are we finally going to see a 'proper' superhero film in Hindi?

15. Dhoom 3: Aamir Khan will don a new avatar for the last big film of 2013 as 'Dhoom 3' is going to hit the screens on Christmas 2013. Moreover, a new director Vijay Krishna Acharya (Tashan) is wielding the megaphone this time. Are we going to miss Sanjay Gadhvi?
