The date December 24, 2012 is marked as the birth anniversary of the
legendary singer Late Mohammad Rafi. It is the 88th birthday of the
melody king of Bollywood who took his last breath on July 31, 1980.
During his wonderful career in the industry, he won lots of hearts of his listeners. He is the role model of many big singers of Bollywood as he sang in such a good way without using any of the latest technologies. Some of his melodious sons are still remembered.
Rafi was born in Punjab of British India and died in Mumbai, Maharashtra at the age of 55 years. He gave his magical voice to over 5, 000 songs in Hindi, various and even in few foreign languages. He spend 35 years in the industry.

His working place Mumbai conducted a 12-hour marathon concert in the city in the loving memory of the legendary singer. Renowned radio personality Amin Sayani and late composer Naushad Ali will also be honoured on the occasion with the 'Mohammad Rafi Award'.
