During his wonderful career in the industry, he won lots of hearts of his listeners. He is the role model of many big singers of Bollywood as he sang in such a good way without using any of the latest technologies. Some of his melodious sons are still remembered.
Rafi was born in Punjab of British India and died in Mumbai, Maharashtra at the age of 55 years. He gave his magical voice to over 5, 000 songs in Hindi, various and even in few foreign languages. He spend 35 years in the industry.
As we have already mentioned that he had a magical voice, it was very familiar with the voices of many huge stars of the time like Shammi Kapoor, Rajendra Kumar, Dev Anand, Raj Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Balraj Sahni, Shashi Kapoor and many more.
During his fairy tale career, Mohammad Rafi was conferred with many awards like Padma Shree, National Film Award, Best National Singer Award, and many other national and international awards.
His working place Mumbai conducted a 12-hour marathon concert in the city in the loving memory of the legendary singer. Renowned radio personality Amin Sayani and late composer Naushad Ali will also be honoured on the occasion with the 'Mohammad Rafi Award'.
