The harsh decision had been taken by the board because of the name of the film. The film contains number '786' in its name, which is the most sacred number in Islam religion. So, because of the fear of getting their religious sentiments hurt, they have banned the film to release in the Islamic country.
The censor board has directed the cinema-hall owners not to show the trailer, and has asked the producers/distributors to take off the posters of the film. The film is yet to get the clearance from the board to release in Pakistan.
According to the sources, Pakistan's censor board has banned the advertisement of the film 'Khiladi 786' because most of the Muslims consider '786' as a sacred number and its name may cause contrast in the country.
"The news of executing the posters and banners of the film at Rawalpindi and many other places of Pakistan and I have asked the regional authorities to take them off immediately," said Raja Mustafa Haider, President of Censor Board of Pakistan.
About the last decision on the film, he added, "We will decide on it when the film will be sent to us before being showed in the cinema-halls. We have agreed the distributors to feature the film without containing '786' in its name."
The film was scheduled to hit the floors on December 7.
One of the distributors of the film Suhail Mukhtar said, "If censor board has any objection with the name of the film than they have the complete legal right to change it. But, until the film shows any calamitous dialogue or scene in it, the release should not be banned."
