Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan were first signed by Karan Johar for his magnum opus Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001). Their fresh pairing was loved by everyone in the film. Both the good looking actors then worked in Mujhse Dosti Karoge (2002), and Sooraj Barjatya’s Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon (2003). Alas! post this film they were never seen together on big screen.
Earlier, during an interview with a film magazine, Kareena even said that she thinks they make a ‘fabulous’ pair and is keeping her fingers crossed for a good project to come their way. Seems Zoya’s film is just what she wished!
Still basking in the success of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Zoya Akhtar now has bigger plans for both the actors. She wants to rekindle Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan’s big screen romance in her next. Also, Zoya is keen to sign Kareena’s cousin Ranbir Kapoor in the film. The Kapoors will be playing brother-sister in the film, and the actress Katrina Kaif has apparently been chosen to star opposite Ranbir.
Katrina Kaif has expressed her desire several times to work with Ranbir again. The two were seen in films like Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Rajneeti. Zoya's project is expected to go on floors by the end of the year because the stars of her film are currently busy with other projects.
Must say, Zoya has pulled off a casting coup of sorts.
