TOI gives you an exclusive look at Priyanka Chopra in her first role as an animated character in a Hollywood film, 'Planes'. In this picture, you see her character Ishani flying full-throttle with the Taj Mahal in the background. As Ishani, PC plays an Indian plane, the reigning pan-Asian champion in a famous around-the-world aerial race.
PC's character has been described as "easy on the eyes, but ruthless in the skies." She is also described as exotic, mysterious, full of surprises and fiercely competitive, all at the same time. The film's director Klay Hall says India features in his film for two reasons, "Practicality — the planes needed to refuel in that region of the world — and aesthetics — India is a beautiful country that many of us have experienced. We loved the opportunity to highlight the warmth of India's people, colours and culture when we were creating our film."
He adds that he became a fan of PC after seeing her in Dostana. He calls her "a triple treat—an actor, singer and dancer", who "attracted a lot of attention" when she came in to record her lines.
