Love makes one live better. Well, that seems to be the point of the new song 'Jeene Laga Hoon', featuring the newcomer Girish Kumar and Shruti Haasan from the upcoming film Ramaiya Vastavaiya.
The song provides sweet vignettes of a blooming romance between the film’s protagonists, a smooth-talking NRI guy named Ram (Girish Kumar) who falls for a cute and comely Indian girl Sona (Shruti Haasan). She rebuffs his advances at first, but can’t ignore his overtures for long.
Sung by Atif Aslam and Shreya Ghoshal, the song ‘Jeene Laga Hoon’ tries to capture the tenderness of the duo’s romance. The little moments they share teasing, cajoling, cuddling. There is a cute scene where Girish squirts ketchup over his tee and Shruti follows it up by dousing him with a jar of milk. However, it’s indeed quite childish of her to slam a hammer into a clock while crooning, “Rehte ho aa ke jo, tum paas mere, Tham jaye pal yeh wahin, bass main yeh sochun...”
Girish Kumar does look good and, at first glance, seems to know a bit of acting as well. Shruti Haasan looks a lot like the younger version of mom Sarika.
‘Jeene Laga Hoon’ is composed by Sachin Jigar and written by Priya Panchal.
Ramaiya Vastavaiya is directed by Prabhu Deva. The film is a remake of Prabhu Deva's directorial debut Telugu blockbuster Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana.
