WATCH: Nikhil Advani's ‘D-Day’ teaser

Nikhil Advani, who had wooed many hearts with the superhit ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ back in 2003, seems to have cooked a gripping story after several tepid box office outings. ‘D-Day’, which stars Arjun Rampal, Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Shruti Haasan in pivotal roles, marks Advani’s foray into the thriller genre.

The official teaser of the film was released on May 13, and has Rishi Kapoor stepping into the shoes of Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar in it. The veteran actor’s look is crafted to reflect the actual Dawood Ibrahim.

Gunshots and reports of bombings are what the teaser opens with. Thereafter, Rishi Kapoor enters the screen in his Dawood avatar. Quick snapshots of Arjun Rampal, Huma Qureshi, Irrfan Khan and Shruti Haasan follow.

While Arjun Rampal had simultaneously been working for ‘Satyagraha’ during the filming of ‘D-Day’, several other commitments – including ‘Gunday’ – had been keeping Irrfan busy. Meanwhile, Huma Qureshi’s last at the Box Office, ‘Ek Thi Daayan’, won the actress heaps of praises.

The first theatrical trailer of the film will be unveiled on May 23, 2013. The film is expected to hit the theatres on July 19. Here’s the first teaser of ‘D-Day’:
