Emraan Hashmi: GHANCHAKKAR will be my biggest hit

He is quite down to earth about his achievements and though aspires to be as successful as Salman Khan, he brushes aside his comparison with the older star for his consistency of delivering one hit after another. GHANCHAKKAR, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta (AAMIR, NO ONE KILLED JESSICA), is Emraan Hashmi's second comedy and also the second film with Vidya Balan after the super hit THE DIRTY PICTURE. He has ventured out of his familial banner and comfort zone and has started doing off beat cinema including an international art house film directed by Oscar winning director Danis Tanovic and co-produced by AKFPL.

However, he has never been comfortable with the idea of doing comedies. GHANCHAKKAR is a big leap forward for him and he is looking forward to the film's release on 28th June 2013 and has been promoting it with great enthusiasm along with Vidya Balan, the film's leading lady. He was talking to the media during one of the promotional events when he proclaimed with overflowing confidence that he expected GHANCHAKKAR to be the biggest hit of his career. The film is a comic-thriller and Hashmi agreed to do it after a four hour non-stop narration given to him by the film's director Raj Kumar Gupta. He plays the role of Sanjay Atre (Sanju), a thief and safe-breaker, who suffers from some kind of selective amnesia. He is married to a Punjabi girl Neetu (played by Vidya Balan).

GHANCHAKKAR is produced by UTV Motion Pictures. The film's music, composed by Amit Trivedi, is already released and the tracks like 'Lazy lad...' and 'Ghanchkkar babu' have become popular. The film is written by Parvez Sheikh and Raj Kumar Gupta.
