Abhinav Kashyap has managed to bring the Kapoor clan together on the big screen for his sophomore effort ‘Besharam’. Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor were spotted shooting at a defunct mill along with their son Ranbir Kapoor.
Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor were sporting police uniforms on set of ‘Besharam’, and their scene included having a lengthy conversation with Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor’s character’s name in ‘Besharam’ is deemed to be Pepsi, a bindaas but macho person.
Abhinav Kashyap shot three scenes at the mill for ‘Besharam’. The first involved the emotional sequence between Ranbir Kapoor and his parents. Are Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor’s police characters at odd with Ranbir Kapoor’s Pepsi? Abhinav Kashyap was happy with Ranbir Kapoor’s dialogue delivery in this scene.
Another scene for ‘Besharam’ shot at the mill included Ranbir Kapoor’s Pepsi interacting with 15-20 children, all between seven-eight years of age. Ranbir, we hear was quite the guardian to these children, even guiding them if they seemed lost.
The third scene shot for ‘Besharam’ was a climactic action sequence choreographed by action director Shyam Kaushal.
In between scenes while shooting for ‘Besharam’, Ranbir apparently indulged in all kinds of behaviour, at times showing his mother Neetu Kapoor images and messages on his phone. Sometimes, the actor just sat on his seat and meditated on his next scene or reflected on his performance in the previous scene. He even went for a walk with his phone a few times.
Even though Ranbir Kapoor is a superstar now, especially after his star turn in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, it is Rishi Kapoor whom the director respects and consults between shots on ‘Besharam’. After every scene involving the senior Kapoors, Abhinav Kashyap would go up to Rishi Kapoor and ask him whether he felt the shot was fine. If Abhinav Kashyap himself felt something was amiss, he would inform the Kapoors and they would reshoot the scene in question.
Overall, looks like ‘Besharam’ is turning out to be quite the anticipated release we want it to be. Coming off Dabangg, we are interested in what Abhinav Kashyap wants to portray in ‘Besharam’ with Ranbir Kapoor. ‘Besharam’ also stars Pallavi Sharda opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Javed Jaffrey in a negative role. The film also has Lalit Pandit of Jatin-Lalit fame composing the music.
‘Besharam’, which has the tagline “Na sammaan ka moh, na apmaan ka bhay”, releases tentatively on 2 October, 2013.
