Shahid Kapoor loosened his purse strings for a Rs. 23 lakh solitaire as the engagement gift to his fiancée Mira Rajput recently, reports say.
Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput are set to tie the knot in June this year, but before the wedding the couple had a low-key ‘roka’ ceremony in which Shahid reportedly gave his wife-to-be a solitaire worth Rs. 23 lakh.
Reports say the ‘roka’ ceremony was held on May 16 at Mira’s residence in Chattarpur Farms, Delhi. Shahid Kapoor picked up the diamond from a jeweler in Delhi.
“It was custom-made and was ordered from a jeweler in Delhi itself. Shahid had kept Mira’s taste in mind and had personally picked the design and had ordered it much in advance. It costs a whopping Rs 23 lakh,” a source is quoted as saying in a media report.
Shahid Kapoor has confirmed that he will tie the knot with Mira Rajput this year, though he hasn’t revealed the date.
Buzz is that the duo will get married in June in Greece. It will be a destination wedding to be attended by the family members, close relatives and few friends of both the bride and groom.
The preparations for the wedding are already said to be underway.
