Rajinikanth – director Shankar combo has a terrific track record at box office. Their collaborations Sivaji and Enthiran not only made money but also left great impact in the minds of the audience.
And now the sequel to 2010 sci fi blockbuster Enthiran has become the talk of the town. Tentatively titled as Enthiran 2/ Robot 2, the film stars Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson in lead roles. With the film expected to go floors early next year, there is still a great deal of confusion as who would play villain against Rajinikanth in the film. After names of Aamir Khan, Kamal Haasan and Vikram were thrown for the role of Rajini’s nemesis, rumour has it that the makers are in discussion with Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger to play the baddie.
A little birdie tells us that Arnold has demanded a whopping sum of Rs 100 crore to star in Enthiran 2. While it is not clear if this rumour is true, meeting Arnold’s remuneration demands will prove to be quite a headache for the makers. Earlier, we had disclosed that the makers had zeroed in on a budget of Rs 150 crore. But if Arnold’s alleged Rs 100 crore demand is met, then Enthiran 2 will surely beat Baahubali to be the most expensive Indian film.
It is to be noted that Arnold had flew down to India last year for the audio launch of Shankar’s I. While in the event, the Terminator star did disclose his desire to work with Shankar, his remuneration demand might make director Shankar to reconsider to offer the role to someone else.
