Versova police registered an FIR against Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for allegedly assaulting a 25- year-old woman over a parking issue.
The incident took place in the actor’s building at Zora Agari Nagar in Versova.
The complainant, who is the daughter of the society chairman, alleged that she had gone to Nawazuddin's flat to ask him to attend a society meeting over an issue. But Nawazuddin pushed her following an argument.
According to the police, the society members sent a letter Nawazuddin for allegedly occupying the society’s parking space for his personal use but the actor did not pay heed to the notice.
This was the second letter sent to the actor by the society following a notice sent on September last year, the cops said. Apparently, the society members were unhappy because Nawazuddin had not taken prior permission from the society to use the parking space.
They decided to discuss the issue over a meeting and subsequently asked the Bollywood actor to attend the meeting.
However, he refused to attend the meeting and hired bouncers to ensure that the society members do not come in his way.
Nawazuddin has been booked under section 354 Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty of IPC
