Yes, you heard that right... Superstar Rajinikanth will play an important part in Rajkumar Hirani's Tamil-Hindi bilingual production Saala Khadoos. The film, which stars R Madhavan as a rogue boxing coach, is all set to release on January 29.
In the film, Madhavan, who is transferred to Chennai after a tussle with his senior official, witnesses the omnipresence of the superstar in the Tamil Nadu capital.
An entire sequence has been dedicated to show the Rajinikanth phenomenon. It is a cameo of sorts, wherein the Padma Vibhushan awardee himself is unaware that he too is a part of the film.
The filmmakers, in a move to establish the Chennai vibe in the film, have employed this tactic. They have shown various posters and roadside paintings of the superstar in order to portray the flavour of the city.
Saala Khadoos is Rajkumar Hirani's first production. The film is directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad and features R Madhavan and Ritika Singh in the lead roles. The film has music by Santhosh Narayanan. The film is named Irudhi Suttru in Tamil.
