Mumbai Crime Branch questions rapper Badshah for more than 10 hours in fake social media followers scam

Bollywood is dealing with too many issues right now. One of them is the fake followers scam.

Yesterday, the Mumbai Crime Branch questioned famous rapper Badshah for more than ten hours in their office. It was in connection with the fake social media followers scam. His chartbuster song, 'Pagal Hai' had got 75 million views in a day.

Later, Google rejected the claim. The crime branch wants to explore this angle as well. The rapper also lost a number of followers of late. The crime branch has asked for a comprehensive list of all his followers. He is not the only big celeb under the scanner. Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra have also been named in the fake social media followers scam that surfaced some days back.

The issue of fake followers came to light after singer Bhoomi Trivedi found a fake profile on hers on social media. When the Mumbai cops began investigating the matter, they busted a social media fake followers racket. It was discovered that many Bollywood celebs, sportsmen and high-profile people were guilty of buying followers. It seems as many as 176 people have allegedly paid to get followers. Rapper Badshah whose real name is Aditya Prateik Singh Sisodia has delivered a number of hits. His last song, Genda Phool was a blockbuster.

On July 29, 2020 the cops had issued summons to RJ Roshan Abbas and former IPL commentator-actor Gaurav Kapoor is connection with this matter. They are investors in Chtrbox Digital Company, which is owned by Pranay Swaroop. It deals in social media influencers and their marketing. Last year, they were accused of leaking date of as many as 49 million Instagram users. Badshah is one of the top names of the Indian music scene. He was accompanied by a couple of people as he went for the questioning at Mumbai crime branch.
