I tell my son there's no shortcut to success, says Sunny Deol

While grooming his son for filmdom, Sunny Deol taught 21-year-old Karan to carve a niche for himself on the basis of hard work and honesty.

"I tell Karan to be a good person, to work hard. I tell him there's no shortcut to success. He has to work hard if he wants to achieve his goals," said Sunny in an interview.

Karan worked as an assistant director for Yamla Pagla Deewana 2. Directed by Sangeeth Sivan, the comedy-drama will see the three Deols - Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby - in action. It is slated for a June 7 release.

"I want him to be a grounded person. We are self-made people. My father had come from Punjab and struggled to be where he is today. I want Karan also to be a self-made, honest person and a good human being," said Sunny.

Meanwhile, the 56-year old is busy with Ghayal Returns, I love New York and Singh Sahab the Great.
