He Named Me Malala poster: Biopic on Nobel prize winner Malala Yousafzai looks promising!

Fox Searchlight Pictures is globally distributing the most awaited and powerful movie of the year He Named Me Malala…

The makers of He Named Me Malala have released the first poster of the film and it looks very promising. The film promises to be an intimate portrait of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai. We all recall what she went through, but this film will show the world what she has been fighting for and will try and bring more sense to people who are opposed to what she is demanding.

She was targeted by the Taliban and severely wounded by a gunshot while returning home on her school bus in Pakistan’s Swat Valley. The then 15-year-old (she turns 18 this July) was singled out, along with her father, for advocating for girls’ education. The attack on her sparked an outcry from supporters around the world. She miraculously survived and is now a leading campaigner for girls’ education globally as co-founder of the Malala Fund. Now isn’t that wonderful?

Acclaimed documentary filmmaker Davis Guggenheim, who has previously been associated with films like An Inconvenient Truth, Waiting for Superman, etc shows us how Malala, her father Zia and her family are committed to fighting for education for all girls worldwide. Who can forget Malala‘s famous line, “One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.” She truly became an inspiration for all girls across the globe and that too at such a young age. The film gives us an inside glimpse into this extraordinary young girl’s life – from her close relationship with her father who inspired her love for education, to her impassioned speeches at the UN, to her everyday life with her parents and brothers.

After knowing about her life from before we are even more eager to know and once again relive the incidents that she had to bear all alone. The film is all set to hit theatres this October. We are super psyched after seeing the first poster.
