In the world of the living, the walking dead make a fanciful subject, and while most of the Indians might still relate the word Zombie with Hollywood or the popular rock song by The Cranberries, actor-producer Saif Ali Khan has made Bollywood’s first zomcom Go Goa Gone -- a zombie comedy.
Produced by Saif Ali Khan-Dinesh Vijan’s Illuminati Films, the movie is about three friends -- Vir Das, Kunal Khemu and Anand Tiwary -- who go to Goa and get caught in an adventure with Russian drug mafia, played by Saif, who is also a zombie hunter. The actor has even dyed his hair blonde to look the part, as he plays a Russian named Boris.
However, in the trailer when Anand Tiwary raises a doubt about Saif and says that he looks 'desi’, Saif says, Haan yaar, dilli se hoon…be***. Funnily, when the three friends encounter zombies for the first time, they conclude that the reason for zombies seen now in India is Globalization -- In firangiyon ne watt laga di hai..pehle leke aaye HIV, ab zombie.
Saif Ali Khan says about his role, “He is tough and cool, but also very funny. He has a good heart and is brave. The dynamics between him and the boys is hysterical. I was very excited to play Boris the zombie hunter and even happier to produce this film.”
The trailer of Go Goa Gone is the wackiest to come out this year, and is not at all scary even with the ugly zombies walking on the beaches of Goa. Is it a spoof on horror films, something along the lines of the Scary Movie series?
The movie has been directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK and is expected to release on May 10. Catch here the entertaining trailer of Go Goa Gone:
