For very long now, each time the Silsila actors come together on the same platform, the shutterbugs have gone click, click!
Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha and Jaya Bachchan together at the 20th Life OK Screen Awards were a treat to the shutterbugs and onlookers, Silsila live? Well, this sight is not new to those who have been regulars in the awards circle. But, what was new was the fact that Big B acknowledged and even greeted his Muqaddar ka Sikandar co-star. Rekha and Amitabh have steered clear of each other for long now for reasons unknown. This duo last shared screen space in Yash Chopra’s film Silsila that also featured Big B’s wifey Jaya Bachchan. While many suggested that Silsila was the real life story of this trio, there has been no confirmation of this ever.
The reclusive Rekha and Big B’s wife have however been cordial at events and dos, many a times our cameras have caught them exchanging bear hugs and pleasantries that has put to rest all rumours about conflict between once competing heroines. Rekha has also been warm towards Abhishek Bachchan and Bachchan’s bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and they have returned her sentiments. However, Rekha and Amitabh despite having worked together in numerous films have never been seen together, in fact this is one of those rare moments when we have seen this duo share such a moment.
There were also reports about Amitabh-Rekha returning together on screen with Anees Bazmi’s Welcome Back. However with both parties having denied these reports everybody including the filmmaker was left disappointed. With this new gesture, will we see this duo back on screen together?
