Salman Khan, who will be the guest of honour at sister Arpita Khan Sharma’s wedding reception arrived in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh on Sunday (May 24). The actor travelled to Sundenagar by private helicopter and then by road, accompanied by younger brother Sohail Khan.
Anil Sharma, a cabinet minister and father of Arpita’s husband Aayush told Indian Express: “We are honoured by the visit of Salman Khan and doubly excited at bahu’s (Arpita Khan Sharma) home coming.”
Arpita Khan and Aayush Sharma, who tied the knot six months ago in an extravagant celebration, are having a grand reception at Mandi, which is Ayush’s hometown.
The bride-to-be for a second time, shared a beautiful picture of her hennaed feet.
More than 14,000 to 15,000 people, which includes all residents of Mandi town will be attending the ceremony. Anil Sharma’s assembly constituency, political figures, businessmen and prominent figures from all the state will be attending the function at local Gymkhana club.
The Sharma family also engaged local folk artists to perform for the guests next to the main stage –where Salman Khan will make his appearance with the young couple and Aayush ‘s family.
“We have all necessary arrangements already in place as the event is going to attract a huge crowd. Since it being a private affair,the police have nothing to do except taking care of law and order or traffic mobility on Kullu-Manali National Highway due to tourists season,” SP (Mandi) Mohit Chawla had said.
Arpita got married to Aayush Sharma on November 18 last year . Both the families hosted functions for relatives and friends in Mumbai, but the reception in Mandi was postponed as couple went on a three-week honeymoon, and later brother Salman Khan’s legal complications delayed the celebrations back home.
